Member Evening: A Surrealist Halloween
Join us for an otherworldly celebration of Halloween and the 100th anniversary of André Breton’s “Surrealist Manifesto.” Enjoy a DJ set, exquisite corpse art making, exclusive access to the Thomas Schütte exhibition and our fifth-floor collection galleries, and drinks at our pop-up bar. Costumes inspired by Surrealist works in our collection are encouraged but not required.
RSVP required and free for MoMA members at the Access category and above. For additional guest passes, please register in advance and purchase guest tickets, if needed, for your preferred entrance time, 6:30, 7:00, or 7:30 p.m. Members at the Explore category may bring one complimentary guest without reserving guest tickets; members at the Supporting category and above may bring up to four complimentary guests without reserving guest tickets. Enter through the main entrance of the Rockefeller Building at 11 West 53rd Street only.
Member Evening at MoMA is an inclusive and safe celebration for all. We do not allow masks that cover the full face or costumes that perpetuate discrimination or violence of any kind, including fake weapons or any “dual-use” items that could be considered dangerous to people or art, such as hammers, saws, sharp objects, poles, and sticks. In addition to A Surrealist Halloween, the following exclusive events are included with MoMA’s Access (and above) membership:
- Halloween Screening: Practical Magic, Thu, Oct 31, 8:30 p.m. o Members can enjoy an enchanted night of Practical Magic on Halloween with this cult-favorite film following two sisters (Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman) as they navigate love, curses, and chaos.

- Christian Marclay: The Clock, Member Previews Nov 7–9 o A mesmerizing journey through 100 years of cinema that charts the moments of the day, synchronized to the actual time, as it unfolds through a 24-hour montage of thousands of film clips. Members are the first to see this new exhibition and will enjoy priority access. - Lillie P. Bliss and the Birth of the Modern, Member Previews Nov 14–16 o The life and legacy of a visionary MoMA founder is illuminated through her remarkable collection, including works by Cézanne, Picasso, Matisse, and Modigliani. Members are first to see this new exhibition, without the crowds.
