Theo Bleckmann with Timo Andres
In this touching program of songs about love, war, peace and exile — penned by Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill, Bertolt Brecht and others — Theo Bleckmann breathes delicate life into these German classics, including a haunting rendition of Lili Marleen, reminding us of their personal and political relevance today. CABARET AT CAFÉ SABARSKY Cabaret at Café Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian theatrical performance of the 1890s to 1930s. The intimate 60-seat room is exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos, and features a Bösendorfer grand piano.
