Downtown Artists: Neighborhood Tour
Discover the artistic soul of downtown New York on a walking tour with stops at former artist homes and studios near the New Museum. In this tour led by Teaching Artist Rosed Serrano, we will delve into the lives of downtown artists from the 1960s to the early 1980s. Artists we will discuss include John Giorno, Lynda Benglis, Adrian Piper, Lorraine O’Grady, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
This tour meets, rain or shine, in front of the New Museum at 235 Bowery. Please come dressed ready to explore the neighborhood streets.
