Grace Chang: The Family Legacy of the Chinese BaoTingChang Performers

Join filmmaker, producer and actor Grace Chang on a most special journey through her family legacy, most notably her father Bao Ting Chang, a legendary figure in Chinese entertainment history. Chang, who acted in The Joy Luck Club and other films, brings us on a family adventure over many decades, exploring the performance art form known as Xiang Sheng, including through the work of The Mushroom Brothers of China, who combined comedy, music, and singing with full production des. The Chang family were pioneers of other 20th century Chinese-based artists who bridged gaps over six regimes and across world cultures. The family work will be inducted into the archives and unveiled on stage and in the Library for the Performing Arts archives for public access.
