Information Session for National Children’s Chorus Auditions: NYC Chapter!
The New York chapter of the GRAMMY® award winning National Children’s Chorus is holding an Audition Information Session for students, ages 5 to 17, on Saturday, November 2 at 5pm ET. The free audition information session will be held via Zoom. Should you decide to audition, there will be a $45 application fee that includes a one-on-one private evaluation. Register now to attend the online information presentation on Saturday, November 2.
The initial Zoom meeting will be a live information session about NCC. Applicants will also select an appointment for their one-on-one private video audition with one of NCC’s conductors. Finally, parents/ guardians will talk with a representative from NCC over the phone. New York Junior Division (ages 5-9) rehearsals take place near Lincoln Center on Tuesday evenings for the Sonata and Concerto Levels and on Wednesday evenings for the Prelude and Minuet Levels. The Senior Division (ages 10-18) is based at Opera America in Manhattan, and consists of the Debut Ensemble (Tuesday evening rehearsals), the Premier Ensemble (Wednesday evening rehearsals), and Scholars (SATB college-prep, Tuesday evening rehearsals). Students will begin rehearsals and classes for the Spring Season in January 2025
The National Children’s Chorus guides students to find their voice and achieve their best through unparalleled vocal training in an extraordinary musical environment. Instructors work weekly with students to develop their vocal skills from the most basic concepts through the college level. Students develop tone quality, breath support, and artistic expression while working together as an ensemble.
Additionally, students have the exclusive opportunity to participate in annual international summer tours, a summer youth opera academy, and national concerts at premier venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. With a spectacular musicianship curriculum to accompany its first-rate vocal training, the National Children's Chorus is an unparalleled educational resource for children who love to sing!
