Poets House will present a virtual reading of Yanyi’s book The Year of Blue Water, and new poems from his upcoming book Dream of the Divided Field, from his home on Long Island, NY. The reading will be live-streamed on the Poets House Twitter page on Wednesday, May 27th at 12:00 PM, and will also be available on the Poets House Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Yanyi is a writer and critic. In 2018, he won the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, awarded by Carl Phillips, for his first book, The Year of Blue Water. Currently, he is poetry editor at Foundry, poetry review editor at Public Books, and an MFA candidate at New York University.

Founded by two-time U.S. Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz and legendary arts administrator Elizabeth Kray, Poets House serves as a home for all who read and write poetry. In 2009, Poets House moved into its permanent home at 10 River Terrace in Battery Park City on the banks of the Hudson River where, last year, 80,000 people walked through its doors, and more than five million were introduced to Poets House through its new website and national partnerships. 2017 marks the 30th Anniversary Celebration of this landmark institution.
