The Financial Ecosystem and Black Businesses and Entrepreneurs
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
A recent study by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York revealed racial disparities in access to federal relief funds, and higher rates of Black business closures during recent COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, counties with the highest concentration of COVID-19 cases are also the areas with the highest concentration of Black businesses. Perpetual historical barriers in the overall financial ecosystem have often left Black entrepreneurs struggling, marginalized, and isolated in their quest to obtain credit and capital to survive and sustain their businesses.
In this webinar, our panelists will discuss:
What are the challenges that Black businesses face when seeking bank financing?
How are Black operated banks helping Black-owned businesses to access external finance?
What are alternative forms of financing available to Black business owners and entrepreneurs?
