Filmshop Luminaries: Zaya and Maurizio Benazzo
Join us for an evening honoring Filmshop Luminaries Zaya and Maurizio Benazzo, as we discuss their journey to creative and financial success in the realm of independent film. Zaya and Maurizio will also be giving guidance to four Filmshop films about to be released.
In the first half of the evening, we'll discuss Zaya and Maurizio's career beginning with their documentary The Wisdom of Trauma, featuring Dr. Gabor Maté. They released the film in the summer of 2021 and within one week it was viewed by more than 4 million people, generating massive impact and revenue. We'll discuss how they spent years building a global community (Science and Non-Duality (SAND)) which helped spark the success of The Wisdom of Trauma and has informed the release of their latest, Where Olive Trees Weep. From there, we'll get a sneak peek at some of their upcoming films.
To conclude the evening, Zaya and Maurizio will provide guidance to four Filmshop projects getting ready for their own distribution:
Theresa Loong's Game On
Rick Flynn's Golf Alpha Yankee
Robert Drilea's Fidelity
Hsuan-Yu Pan's Hear, Eat, Home
Charles Lavoie's Who Will Feed Us?
