For a twist on the classic end-of-summer barbeque with an unexpected yet delicious pairing of orange wines with low-and-slow BBQ, head to Orange Glou on the LES, the only wine store in the world dedicated to orange wines. Founder Doreen Winkler is hosting a finger-licking-good event on Friday September 13 over two one-hour sessions between 6pm-8pm, where she'll be pouring four all-American skin-contact wines from New York and California (East Coast vs West Coast taste-off!) matched with four dishes from her NYC favorite Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque, including spare ribs, pulled pork sliders, mac & cheese fritters and Mexican street corn. 

The versatile, food-friendly orange wines (aka skin-contact wines, made with white grapes but in the style of reds where the skins are kept in contact with the juice after pressing) cut through the richness and complement the flavors of BBQ dishes. Tickets are $45 with sessions starting at 6pm and 7pm, and $10 of the ticket price will go toward any in-store wine purchase made the night of the event.
