Let Me Play: A Tribute to Title IX
A selection of documentary films from the Reserve Film and Video Collection will host a panel discussion on the social and political importance of Title IX of the Educational Amendments Act of 1972 which, in short, prescribed equity in school sports for female athletes. The program will include the premiere of the restoration of Bonnie Friedman's award-winning educational film The Flashettes (1977), which documented the titular girls' Bed-Stuy track club.
