Nia Calloway
Learn More |
Nia Calloway (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator who traverses the worlds of theater, poetry, music, dance, and the healing arts. Driven by the desire to relate the natural world, supernatural phenomena, and the cosmos to our bodies, Nia’s art serves to reorient our stories around Black femme bodies, our planet, and collective healing. In the midst of death, destruction, and grief, our will to create is essential to our survival. How can anyone extinguish war and conflict before extinguishing the wars within ourselves, between one another, between us and the Earth? If the truth may be our last real currency, how can we best preserve it? Nia’s purpose as an artist is to weave empathy and remembering into the quilt of the human experience. She serves as an archivist of the emotions, sensations, and history that we collectively share.
