12pm What is Paradise? Workshop with Ghost of a Dream $15 Join Lauren and Adam from the collaborative team Ghost of a Dream for an afternoon of brainstorming and creation. Get to know their techniques and thought processes behind their series Falling From Paradise, featured in Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorbikes. Then, head back to the studio space to workshop ideas about the concept of paradise, cutting those ideas into/out of Ghost of a Dream’s collection of vintage travel posters. No experience necessary; just come and have fun.

3pm Masked Vigilantes Artist’s Tour with Jordan Seiler Enjoy a unique and engaging artist’s tour of the acclaimed exhibition Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorbikes with participating artist Jordan Seiler. Experience the exhibition from the artist’s perspective and get the inside scoop on the show. Questions strongly encouraged!

4:30pm War Stories: Spies & Propaganda Attend back-to-back curatorial tours of our latest hallway exhibitions, Schoolgirls at War and With My Little Eye. Starting upstairs, Chief Curator Angelina Lippert will introduce you to France’s largest all-female rationing campaign from World War I. Afterward, guest curator Tim Medland will talk about his show breaking down the ways in which Allied countries warned of espionage during World War II.

5:30pm How to Read a Poster with Melissa Walker $25 Posters are designed to communicate a message clearly and quickly, and, as such, are naturally easy to read. Poster connoisseurs, however, observe elements and references that the general public may miss. Join Collections Manager Melissa Walker for an in-depth tutorial on how to read a poster, featuring posters from upcoming exhibitions and the Poster House Permanent Collection. Learn to decode a poster and understand the secrets hidden just beneath the surface in this enlightening and entertaining program.

5, 6, 7pm Ajna Dance Performance In honor of the celebrated exhibition Air India’s Maharaja: Advertising Gone Rogue, Poster House is pleased to welcome Ajna Dance Company to First Friday for an evening of Indian dance performances.
