Poster House Live Dancing Drink & Draw: Its Showtime NYC!
Poster House, the first museum in the United States dedicated to the global history of posters, is hosting a gesture drawing class featuring live dancers on Friday, August 16 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Poster House, 119 West 23rd Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $40.
Dancers from It’s Showtime NYC will be the main feature as participants learn to draw figures in motion from illustrators Robin Mork and A.E. Kieren, followed by complementary cocktails. This class is inspired by the acclaimed exhibition Wonder City of the World: New York City Travel Posters.
Admission price includes a complimentary cocktail and materials, however participants are welcome to bring their own supplies (dry materials only) if desired.
Robin Mork is a Brooklyn-based illustrator and book cover designer, and an adjunct assistant professor of illustration and design at CUNY Queens College. She has a BA from Smith College and an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. Clients include Simon & Schuster, JP Morgan Chase, and Columbia University, among others.
A.E. Kieren is a freelance illustrator. He specializes in on-location illustration for “sketch journalism” as well as for events and entertainment. He holds a BFA in Illustration from College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI and an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay from School of Visual Arts. Kieren also is the host and curator of the long-running and popular weekly sketch night The Anatomy Lesson at Club Cumming.
