Jessie Fisher & Scott Seebart at Prince Street Galllery
Coming to NYC from St Paul, MN, artists and educators Jessie Fisher and Scott Seebart who have been painting together for more than 30 years draw upon their devotion to observation, its possibilities, rigor, and intimacy, Featuring more than 20 recent works in oil and flashe on hand-prepared linen grounds, the exhibition features long-wrought surfaces that showcase Seebart’s expansive library of still-life objects arranged as tabletop apotheosis, while Fisher’s portraits, a series of surrogates and doppelgangers, include models, masks, and effigies, sculpted by and of the artist herself.
