The Queens Family Justice Center is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence, in partnership with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office. Queens is one of the most diverse counties in the United States, facing particular obstacles in combating domestic and gendered violence. The center gives survivors one-stop access to counseling, immigration assistance, housing, food, legal aid and more. In October, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Queens Family Justice Center will hold an event to provide their clients some much needed relaxation and healing via self-care stations, while their children play in the new children's center at the facility. There will be breakfast and goodie bags. Versine Skincare, a conscious skincare brand for sensitive and reactive skin, proudly announces a meaningful collaboration with Mahboba’s Promise, a NYC-based domestic violence support organization. Jennie Gao, Versine's founder, transitioned from Harvard Law School to legal battlefields, culminating in her role as a domestic violence prosecutor in NYC. During her tenure, she worked closely with the Queens Family Justice Center. Versine Skincare’s Gentle Actives Clarity Crème-Serum in limited-edition bags hand sewn by the women of Mahboba’s Promise will retail for $80, and for the month of October, 100% of the profits will go to the Queens Family Justice Center. The collaboration will culminate in a self-care event for the clients of the Center at the end of the month, during which volunteer makeup artists and aestheticians provide these strong survivors some much needed relaxation.
