Since its introduction on Aug. 21, 2014, The Mini Crossword has added a daily dose of delight and determination to solvers’ lives. The five-by-five puzzle, which is a mini version of the original Crossword, has amassed a loyal global fanbase, made up of all ages, locations, and solve times, who love the fast-paced challenge it provides. Ten years of the puzzle — and 10 years of editorship by Joel Fagliano — calls for a big celebration. There is no better way to mark this milestone than through the ones who have made it possible: the players.

On Aug. 21, fans are invited to celebrate the last day of The Mini Hall of Fame competition and the 10th Anniversary of The Mini at a special solving party in New York City. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Joel Fagliano — and go head-to-head against other fans in a series of Mini Crossword speed rounds, commentated by longtime New York Times Games fan and Saturday Night Live cast member, Ego Nwodim.
