COMMENTS:

At 15, the Detroit native began working with Grammy-winning production team the Bass Brothers, renowned for their work with Eminem. As a teenager she also performed throughout the Detroit area at venues, sharing stages with such music greats as Geoffrey Keezer, Christian McBride, Avishai Cohen, Sean Jones and Marcus Belgrave, and later headlined at top venues across the country. She studied jazz at University of Michigan, along with Oscar, Grammy and Tony winning artist Benj Pasek (Pasek & Paul, her roommate) who won an Oscar for La La Land, and critically acclaimed jazz/funk unit Vulfpeck.

Fun fact: She is shoe rock royalty. Her great-grandfather invented the platform shoe, the sling back shoe and the peep toe via his vintage, luxury brand Palter Deliso. He was also the inspiration for shoe icon Steve Madden to get in the business.
