Learn More |
Acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel returns to Scandinavia House in the second of his 3-part series of Keyboard Conversations®, "Schubert: The Soulful and the Sublime."
Passionate, poignant, and profound, the program features music of ineffable beauty, drama, and depth.
Highlights include "Marche Militaire;" "Ave Maria;" "Sonata in A Major (D. 959)," written only weeks before the composer's death; "Evenings in Vienna;" Liszt's virtuoso arrangement of Schubert's celebrated song "The Trout;" and the exuberant "A Major Sonata (D. 664)," inspired by a breathtaking, aristocratic young woman.
Captivating comments combined with thrilling performances of piano masterpieces—a rapid Q & A concludes concert.
"An achievement of a sort seldom heard."
