Author Event- Karl Dunn at Shakespeare & Co
On May 22 at 6pm, Karl Dunn will be discussing and signing his book How to Burn a Rainbow at our 2020 Broadway location. This event is free and open to all. Books will be available for purchase.

About How to Burn a Rainbow: Sometimes, to find yourself, you must first burn everything you thought you knew.

Karl had it all; a husband, a house in the Los Angeles Hills, professional success - it was a life few could ever know. But when his marriage suddenly ended, his perfect life and entire sense of self were shattered. Karl’s struggle though, didn’t end with the death of his relationship.

It was merely the beginning…

He faced a legal battle that threatened everything he had and soon found himself working non-stop, leading to a downward spiral filled with sleepless nights and days of rage, fear, and depression that he barely understood.

Ironically, Karl’s catastrophic loss ignited a journey of self-discovery and a quest for identity, love, and acceptance that took him from LA to a mid-divorce crash-landing in Berlin.

This raw and unflinching memoir invites readers into the heart of Karl Dunn's transformative journey of burning the scripts written for him by both gay and straight worlds, facing down his deepest fears, and forging his own path to happiness.

Far from a tale of despair, How To Burn A Rainbow is a gripping narrative of resilience and courage that dares to ask the hard questions about love, equality, and the price of happiness.

Karl’s marriage didn’t make him whole, his divorce did.
