Grace Gotham's 'Peel Me A Glove'
When was the last time you heard a stripper speak?! Don't answer that! Starring (and produced by) your host for the evening, burlesque artist and chanteuse Grace Gotham, this new monthly show brings back the banter to burlesque a la Gypsy Rose Lee, Sophie Tucker, and Fannie Brice — with a little Lucille Ball and Grace Kelly mixed in. Expect the unexpected cabaret set at this show where whimsy and sophistication collide and elegance mingles with naughty. After all, when the "deceptively demure" Grace Gotham is presenting, you may be hard pressed to tell which is which! And – golly gee – it's only 10 Clams ($10) for a pearl of a show! You don't say!!! Each show will feature live accompaniment by zany genius pianist Chris Johnson, as well as a duo of featured burlesque guest stars that changes every month. After the show, hang out with the cast, sip expertly-made cocktails, and indulge in the fabulous live piano karaoke where any and all are welcome to take a turn or two at the mic. Grace Gotham is an Upper East Sider and NYC-based burlesque performer, producer, and chanteuse who has performed internationally and stars in her own monthly cabaret and burlesque show, "Peel Me a Glove," at Sid Gold's Request Room in Manhattan and Co-Produces a monthly show, "Flatiron Follies," at NYC's Metropolitan Room. Grace has appeared in the pages of Marie Claire and The Wall Street Journal, as well as on Vogue.com, Cosmo TV, The Sartorialist for AOL series, and as a guest on Oprah radio. In addition to turning up the heat on stage, Grace also does so in the kitchen as an avid cook. Her popular food blog, "Tassel to Table," features "sexy and simple meals from a burlesque showgirl to your table."
