Joe Farnsworth and Kenny Washington—two jazz master drummers—meet again in this popular renewal of the storied "drum battles" featured by Jazz at the Philharmonic and at the Newport Festival. Farnsworth is frequently heard with George Coleman, Pharoah Sanders, McCoy Tyner, and Eric Alexander, among many others while Kenny Washington, aka the Jazz Maniac, is one of the most respected drummers of the last 40 years has worked with Lee Konitz, Betty Carter, Johnny Griffin, Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, and Tommy Flanagan as well as with the Bill Charlap Trio. While this irrepressible percussion duo are the featured artists there is also an all-star lineup including trumpeter Jeremy Pelt, tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover, pianist Mike LeDonne, and bassist John Webber.Venue: Smoke Jazz and Supper Club
