The Louis Hayes Cannonball Legacy Band
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
Louis Hayes is a drummer who has been at the very heart of straight-ahead jazz for the past 50 years. His impeccable feel and infectious swing sometimes make it seem as if he invented jazz drumming. He established his considerable reputation in the 1950s and '60s through extended stints with Horace Silver, Oscar Peterson, and Cannonball Adderley and he celebrates the legacy of that last of these giants with this band. It's a group that features the soulful hard bop and effusive swing that made Julian "Cannonball" Adderley one of the most popular jazz artists of all time. With a spectacular lineup that includes alto saxophonist Vincent Herring, trumpeter Jeremy Pelt, pianist Rick Germanson, and bassist Dezron Douglas, the Cannonball Legacy Band truly is one of the most satisfying jazz groups working today.
