Steve Sandberg
Composer/pianist/raconteur Steve Sandberg plays original music that blends classical, world music and jazz with the excitement of virtuosic improvisation. He has toured with Bebel Gilberto, David Byrne and many others. He founded the Steve Sandberg Quartet featuring Snarky Puppy Violinist Zach Brock (Birdland, Cairo Jazz Festival, Mezzrow) in 2016 and has an active performing career. The Dream Music Trio (Steve on piano, Michael O’Brien on bass, Jay Sawyer on drums) is his latest project, and January 24 is the CD release date! The trio plays Steve’s world/classical music pieces; standards; and Steve’s Dream Music Compositions. This was a concept that came to him during the pandemic - he asked his listeners to send him their significant dreams, and he wrote original music bringing these dreams to life. Steve is also an inspired music educator teaching on zoom or from his private studio in Manhattan. https://stevesandbergmusic.com/
