Matthew Brinston Artist Showcase
"My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys,” is on view and available for purchase October 7 – October 14 at Sour Mouse (110 Delancey Street, New York, NY 10002).
The walls surrounding Sour Mouse’s 6,000sq. ft. bar, game and pool hall have been transformed into an art gallery with curated work by contemporary artists available for purchase online and in person.
You'll get to check out the works of former alternative rock musician-turned-artist Matthew Brinston, who plays with the use of color in his paintings, exploring value and contrast. His artwork informs himself and those around him through interaction, helping people find little bits of themselves through personal synergy with the art.
Born and raised in Dallas and currently located in New York City, the 100 silkscreen cowboys were created amid the COVID-19 pandemic in September 2020. With the series selling out in three weeks, Brinston created additional color variations, the remaining 10 of which will be available for purchase at Sour Mouse.
