Robert Schumann
Scherzo, Gigue, Romanze and Fughetta Op. 32 Four Fugues, Op. 72 Seven pieces in Fughetta form, Op126 Kreisleriana, Op. 16
Pianist and conductor Ian Hobson—called "powerful and persuasive" by The New York Times— is recognized internationally for his command of an extraordinarily comprehensive repertoire, his consummate performances of the Romantic masters, his deft and idiomatic readings of neglected piano music old and new, and his assured conducting from both the piano and the podium. As of September 2023, Maestro Hobson has been appointed Guest Conductor of the esteemed Sinfonia Varsovia.
On Friday evening, May 10, 2024, at 7 p.m. Mr. Hobson will be joined by violinist Andres Cardenes, violinist Jun Iwasaki, violist Csaba Erdelyi, and cellist Ko Iwasaki for a chamber music concert also at Tenri Cultural Institute. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pianist-ian-hobson-robert-schumann-cycle-tickets-718156394107?aff=oddtdtcreator.
