Africa Day Weekend Celebration
Since 1963, countries on the African continent and across the world have celebrated May 25th as World Africa Day. The Africa Center will commemorate the 60th anniversary of World Africa Day on Saturday, May 27th, with a FREE community event on our plaza. Celebrate the richness and diversity of the African continent with a ribbon cutting ceremony for our three-story tribute to Africa’s 54 countries and the Pan-African flag. Experience performances from DJ Birane and Kaisokah Moko Jumbies stilt walkers. Enjoy offerings from local Harlem and African vendors, art workshops, and more!
