19th Century Springback Account Binding Workshop
This durable structure was used for ledger books that need to open fully and lay flat while open without stressing the spine. The spine is rounded but not backed, and the mechanism is constructed to allow the book to open with a surprising and charming 'snap'. Designed for account books, perfect for albums, with interesting possibilities for artistic adaptation, this structure is excellent for artists and binders. Each participant will construct a binding from start to finish, no prior binding experience is necessary, though it is helpful.
