To celebrate Black History Month, The Paley Center for Media – the iconic cultural institution that has led the discussion about the cultural, creative, and social significance of media for over 45 years – will be presenting an exclusive panel discussion, “The Storytellers: Preserving the Legacy of Iconic Black Musicians.”

The conversation – taking place Thursday, February 16 at 7pm ET at the Paley Museum - will feature some of the storytellers who have helped preserve the legacy of Black musical icons, including Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. The event will discuss the storytellers’ motivations, creative journeys and video excerpts of their work, with panelists listed below.

The event is part of the Paley Center for Media’s Paley Center’s Salute to Black Achievements in Music on Television presented by Citi, a month-long multimedia exhibit celebrating the intersection of legendary musical icons and unforgettable television moments that have made an impact on culture and society. The exhibit is part of the Paley Center’s long tradition of honoring diversity in media and entertainment.
