Beijing to Bushwick Blues Night
Dive into a night of soul-stirring melodies that honors and celebrates the history of American blues and its cross-cultural influence in Chinese popular music during the 1930s to 1950s (shidaiqu). While shidaiqu are not blues in the traditional sense, they represent the closest fusion of East-West musical traditions during the mid-20th century in China, often characterized by their emotional depth and expressive melodies. Join us in our exploration of this unique musical journey between East and West in "Beijing to Bushwick Blues".
This show features aerial artistry from Subtle Asian Polers.
