Street Theater Summer Musical
Socialization of a Social Worker or One Person’s Fight for Social Justice is a new original free musical with book and lyrics written by Crystal Field with music by Peter Dizozza. Thirteen Performances Throughout the Five Boroughs the story is about A young man, from the neighborhood, with a master’s degree in Socioeconomics and a minor in Urban studies from the state University, comes back to the city with a burning hope that he too will help to make things better. He sees all too well, danger in the Subway’s and the growing despair among the Homeless. He sees the City’s continuing relationship with the Federal government on how to care for and assist, the incredibly growing Immigrant population being sent here by the bus loads.
Surrounded by red tape at every avenue he peruses, he is about to give up, when he meets a bunch of New York City Activists, who are campaigning for the future, especially, the future of the homeless children. The group of Activists find that among the homeless population, there are heroes. There are those that help others. There are those that want the best for everyone and everything. He finds that people power has the power to change, but that no one can do it alone. People power is collective power. Organize your friends and Neighbors and the people whom you work with every day. Every day is a new day! and most importantly, YOU HAVE TO VOTE when election time comes. Learn the lesson of Jan 6th and do not swallow the sugar pill of hatred and resentment. Orchestrated by a red-headed monster sitting in front of his video screen. Learn, that Politicians are not perfect. Even the good ones. But they can be swayed and moved by collective people power and the bad ones have to go home, to Bed. The Street Theater celebrates the people power of your neighborhood.
