Explore the crucial role figure drawing played in Edward Hopper’s evocative city scenes in this in this hands-on workshop with live models, inspired by the exhibition *Edward Hopper’s New York*.

For many of his paintings, Hopper gradually transformed the likeness of his wife, Jo Nivison Hopper, into a distinct character through a succession of preparatory studies, once remarking that the final work “doesn’t look anything like her usually.” In this workshop, sketch live models and consider how Hopper blurred the line between drawing from memory and, as the artist described it, “from the fact.”

Materials will be provided, no experience is necessary. Tickets are required.
