Artmaking at the Whitney Museum: Magnetic Mosaic
Drop by the Artspace to contribute to a magnetic mosaic. Inspired by 2024 Biennial artist Eamon Ore-Giron’s paintings, try your hand at creating your own colorful geometric compositions and collaborate with others contributing to the mosaic. Come back later to see how the magnetic mosaic evolves throughout the day!
Ore-Giron’s painting series featured in the Biennial reimagines deities from ancient Peruvian and Mexican cultures with precise, semi-abstract shapes and vibrant colors. The artist is interested in exploring the living ancestral past in ways that are open, informal, and personal.
Open to all ages. Coincides with the Free Second Sundays program.
Floor 3, Education Center. Free with Museum admission. Seating is first-come, first-served.
