Revelations Interactive Assembly for Families
Get ready to move your body! This assembly program for families explores Alvin Ailey’s 1960 masterpiece Revelations, an enduring classic and cultural treasure performed continuously around the globe. Ailey Arts In Education Teaching Artists and Musicians explore three sections of Revelations while introducing participants to modern dance terminology, Ailey’s history, movement choices based on the Lester Horton technique, and how he used dance as a means of storytelling inspired by his “blood memories” of childhood.
