Dog moms are finally getting the recognition they deserve with their own national holiday celebrating women and their dogs! Pet lovers in the New York City area are encouraged to come out to celebrate the first-ever National Dog Mom's Day on Saturday, May 12th at d.b.a bar in the East Village. There will be free drinks, rescue groups with adoptable pups and dog friendly businesses with treats to spoil dog moms and their four-legged companions. Dog moms have been asking for a Dog Mom's Day with this Change.org petition (http://bit.ly/DogMomsDay) spearheaded by Dig – The Dog Person's Dating App, on social media, and on dog blogs for years. The creation of this separate day will emphasize the respect for all moms and their right to showcase the love of their kids – fur or not. Thanks to everyone who signed and shared the petition, Dog Mom’s Day will officially be listed on the National Day Calendar within the next couple of weeks! Dig created this day to celebrate and thank the dog moms who dedicate their love and support every day to their dogs. It's a different, special and visceral love that deserves its own day to be recognized and appreciated. Every year, dog moms are reprimanded for celebrating their motherhood on Mother's Day. Dog Mom's Day will be a day truly dedicated to the dog moms, foster dog moms, and future dog moms. Dog moms and their pups in NYC can celebrate the inaugural Dog Mom's Day at d.b.a on Saturday, May 12 from 2 PM – 5 PM. Drinks are free when you download or share Dig – The Dog Person's Dating App. This will be a great way to have a fun outing with your fur-baby, mix and mingle with other dog moms, and honor the Dig dating app and many fur-moms who have worked hard to make this occasion a national holiday! But we don’t care because our hearts are so full of love for these fur-kids!" – Quote from hilarioushound.com/happy-dog-moms-day Look for information about Dog Dad's Day coming up Saturday, June 16!
