Classical Cocktails - Going for Baroque
Join us for an intimate baroque concert series with open bar and historically-inspired cocktails; sponsored by Camp David @ Industry City
About this event A classical concert with open bar for just $45? Believe it!
Classical music doesn't have to be stuffy - it can be just as fun and casual as grabbing a drink with friends. Our vibe is more 'cocktail party' than 'Carnegie Hall.'
If you're already a connoisseur, you will be delighted with the quality of our musicians, the programs they design, and their insights. If you're a complete novice, don't fret - you'll fit right in, too.
Ticket price includes the full 50-minute concert and OPEN BAR with great wine and beer! After the show, join us for a historically-inspired cocktail menu next door at local distillery Standard Wormwood.
Our cocktail menu was advised by the best-selling author of culinary historical fiction (and cocktail enthusiast) Crystal King, and created in collaboration with mixologist John Carlson and Standard Wormwood Distillery. Each is a creative take on a recipe from a famous 17th century cookbook, with a focus on the botanicals that fueled the thriving spice trade of the era.
Thursday, August 11th - BAROQUE MUSIC OF FRANCE - Doors open @ 6pm, music @ 6:30
For the last performance of our baroque series, we will again be joined by cellist Clara Abel and violinist Carmen Johnson-Pájaro for a lively exploration of the French baroque style. Full program TBA, but Carmen says it's some of her favorite ever.
In contrast to the florid, romantic melodrama of the Italian style, French baroque music is characterized by its refined ornamentation. Or at least, that's what French composers were going for - you be the judge!
About the Venue
Industry City is an award-winning complex of restaurants, bars, and retail. There is a full range of delicious food options, so grab dinner before or after the performance.
Special thanks to Camp David (a design and community-forward coworking space) and Industry City for sponsoring and hosting this series. And to Standard Wormwood Distillery for their partnership on a fantastically nerdy project!
