Layla and Majnun Week: Live Conversation with MMDG Dancers and Musicians
We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with Mark Morris’s delightful Layla and Majnun, a classic love story well-known in the Middle East in its first large-scale Western presentation. This weeklong digital program includes a full-length screening of the work, as well as a livestreamed Q&A with dancers and musicians, a multimedia exhibit, virtual dance classes, and more.
Join us for a livestreamed Q&A with dancers Nicole Sabella and Domingo Estrada, Jr., who have played the role of Layla and Majnun, as well as violinist Colin Jacobson, a member of the Silk Road Ensemble who was part of the original production. The conversation will be moderated by former MMDG dancer and current Company Director Sam Black. After discussing their experience with Layla and Majnun, they will take your questions in real time.
This online event is free, with a suggested donation.
