The 90th Annual Drama League Awards!
90 years never looked so young! The 90th Annual Drama League Awards will return to the Ziegfeld Ballroom on May 17, 2024. One of the most festive parties of the season, the audience will gather to bestow honors in seven categories: Outstanding Production of a Play and Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Play and Musical, Outstanding Direction of a Play and Musical, and the Distinguished Performance Award, the oldest theatrical honor in the United States.
The Directors Project 2024 Cohort!
Every season, The Drama League selects exceptional directors from hundreds of applicants across theater, film, and television to participate in The Directors Project. This suite of Fellowships, Residencies, Exchanges, and Assistantships is designed to enhance their artistic expression, advance their careers, and foster their development. This year, we’ve introduced a new program, the Film Fund, to further support our participants. The current cohort joins over 400 Directors Project alumni who are thriving in Broadway, Hollywood, and various creative industries. Our programs prioritize production opportunities, financial stability, personal well-being, and comprehensive resources.
The Archivists
Join The Drama League and The American LGBTQ+ Museum to celebrate Pride Month with first glimpses of two exciting new LGBTQIA+ plays written by the recipients of the Beatrice Terry Residency and Next Stage Residencies. The Drama League will present a staged reading of The Archivists, written and directed by The Drama League’s Beatrice Terry Residency recipient Ann Kreitman, and an open rehearsal of Daddy, written and directed by Next Stage Residency recipient Lyam B. Gabel.
