The Town Hall Presents the 12th Season of Broadway by the Year

April 19, 2012 - by CG News Desk

The Town Hall’s critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year's 12th Season continues with The Broadway Musicals of 1975 on Monday, May 14th at 8pm. 1975 was a year that brought us famous shows by musical theater icons including Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line), John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago), and Richard O’Brien (The Rocky Horror Show), among others. Produced by The Town Hall, The Broadway Musicals of 1975 is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel.

The initial casting for The Broadway Musicals of 1975 includes Ashley Brown (OBC Mary Poppins), Three-time Grammy winner Lari White (Ring of Fire), Two-time Tony nominee Bob Stillman (Grey GardensDirty Blonde), Maya Days (Aida), Scott Coulter (The Stephen Schwartz Show) and award-winning vocalist Carole J. Bufford, with additional casting soon to be announced. The Broadway Musicals of 1975 will be directed by Scott Coulter, with choreography by Vibecke Dahle, and musical direction by Ross Patterson.

In a statement, Scott Siegel said, "I've often been asked if, in our twelfth season, we are running out of great years to highlight, my answer is 1975! After nearly fifty concerts in this series, we are presenting a year that includes shows like The Wiz, Chicago, A Chorus Line, and Shenandoah -- just to name a few. There is a huge vein of great shows still to be mined and performed by an extraordinary cast. I'm also proud to announce that for the first time ever, we will feature the Broadway by the Year® Chorus, made up of more than two dozen emerging musical theater stars."

Tickets are $55, $50 & $45 and are on sale through TicketMaster at 800-982-2787, or The Town Hall Box Office between noon and 6 PM (except Sundays) at 123 West 43rd Street, 212-840-2824.
