Conveniently located on Manhattan's East Side, near Bloomingdale's, Serendipity 3, and Dylan's Candy Bar, Just Bulbs is a family business that first opened its doors in 1942. According to third-generation owner David Brooks, “we carry over 30,000 different bulbs -- that’s right...over 30,000! And if our store doesn’t have a particular bulb on hand, we can get it quickly.” Just Bulbs has bulbs that can be used in different countries, and they ship all over the world. If you’re looking for bulbs that are no longer available in Europe or other countries, they’ve got them—and the adaptors you need to make any of their bulbs light up. Best of all, the store carries a huge variety of unique, distinctive bulbs. Bulbs shaped like fruits and vegetables, different animals (including pigs and zebras), baseballs...even Betty Boop and Sesame Street characters. There are also party lights to make your entertaining extra special: including palm trees, boats, margarita cocktails, flag lights, mini-lanterns... and much more. Open 7 days (Mon.-Sat., 10am-7pm; Sun., noon-6pm). 220 E. 60th St., 212-888-5707; justbulbsnyc.com.
