Is it a bird, is it a plane, it's Super You&Me! On Saturday, July 3 we ask YOU to show your support by transforming yourself into your favorite Superhero! The DRESSCODE is easy: Superheroes, Villans and Vixens. Anything goes, the more creative and crazy the better. Think of the X-Men, Flash Gordon, Batman....OR create your own outfit and give yourself superhuman powers you've always wanted to have. The 3rd of July is the day you can test your X-Ray goggles, take your jet engine boots for a test drive and rescue your crush from the hands of an evil villain, take along a tin of spinach and bust out some break-dance moves and make this a party of Superhuman proportions!

Come on over and meet some the world's most fascinating animals! Explore exotic places like deserts, rain forests, wetlands and even Connecticut's backyard forests while learning about the amazing adaptations that allow animals to call those places home. Presented at the Zoo's Learning Circle, this event is FREE with Zoo admission.

Visit us for story time, a special craft and even an animal encounter each weekday. All activities are FREE with the purchase of Zoo admission. Families with children under age 6 are welcome.

Zoo Patrol - Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo

Zoo Patrol is an exciting summer activities program offered for children. Situated on Zoo grounds, children participate in talks and activities with Zoo staff, play animal-related games and participate in arts and crafts. Each day's activities vary and may include preparing an animal enrichment item, nature walks and getting a glimpse behind the scenes. Sessions run Monday through Friday. Each week is $130/child for members and $150/child for non-members. Weeks one and two are for children ages 7 - 11; weeks three and four are for children ages 12 - 15. The Edible Garden - New York Botanical Garden

An exhibition celebrating and preparing great food. Set across the 250-acre NYBG, The Edible Garden features vegetable gardens and displays, demonstrations from food and gardening experts, celebrity appearances by Daisy Martinez, Dan Barber, Sara Moulton, and others during four festival weekends, and programs that demonstrate the bounty, economy, and nutritional value of edible plants.
