International Award winning Swedish singer/songwriter/actress Viktoria Tocca is busy these days making her mark globally. We caught up with her last week while she was visiting New York and working on her first album in the U.S. (she has recorded several in Sweden), walking the red carpet at the Drama Desk Awards and attending the post awards reception with Mercedes Ellington. She is back off to Stockholm to prepare for a German mini-concert tour that begins on June 7 in Oberhausen, and continues June 8 in Stuttgart and June 15 in Berlin.

Viktoria is truly passionate about her artistry. She writes her own songs, including the catchy new single “We’re Still Young” destined to make its mark here in America.

The lyric soprano is classically trained, but is quite diversified including writing/performing adult contemporary, commercial pop, etc. Her focus is on soul-soothing melodies as well as meaningful lyrics. Some of her musical influences include Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Pink, Faith Hill, Leanne Rimes, and Carrie Underwood, among others.

Not only is Viktoria exceptionally talented, but she is also quite charming, humble, funny and spiritual. When asked what her personal philosophy was, she answered, “I believe in being kind more than anything else. I would like my music to give listeners a positive outlook and inspire honesty. I also support animal causes and want to help young women feel better about the unrealistic body images so often portrayed in the media.

Viktoria also studied musical theatre and starred as Christine more than 200 times in the Danish production of Phantom of the Opera. She has performed on numerous CD compilations, performed with the National Symphony Orchestra and recorded in the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.
