In addition to Jazz, his style and original music draws on Rock, Blues, funk, Surf, Soul, Classical and Experimental influences. The Ken Silverman Trio has released two albums of Ken's original music. 2015 saw "Parallel Man (SoundSeer)", which drew critical acclaim and wide radio play in Europe and the UK, the United States and South Africa. One reviewer said "A modern guitar trio led by New York City guitarist Ken Silverman comes out of the gate burning with rhythmic intensity... (Republic of Jazz). Following up on "Parallal Man", the Ken Silverman Trio has now released "Guitar Fantasies (SoundSeer). Mr. Silverman's Guitar playing and compositions on the album led one reviewer to write that "This is not your father's jazz guitar trio album" and that Ken has a " unique voice on the instrument..perhaps the most notable trait of Guitar Fantasies is the group's willingness to explore varying stylistic terrain. Evan Crandell, 24ourMusic. Allaboutjazz.com said " "...Bluesy passion...blistering licks...Guitar Fantasies showcases Silverman's originality as a composer and his superb skills into melding divergent traditions into a cohesive whole. https://www.allaboutjazz.com/guitar-fantasies-ken-silverman-soundseer-review-by-hrayr-attarian.php. This is Ken's fifth release as a leader, past works including the free jazz offering "Macroscopia with Daniel Carter, which the Jazz record called "Brilliant" and "From Emptiness" with the late great Trumpeter Roy Campbell, which allaboutjazz.com said was "a deeply spiritual work...a Near Masterpiece." On Double Bass in the Trio is the very tasteful Scottish-American Sam McPherson and the creative Andy O'Neill on Drums. http://www.cityguideny.com/eventinfo.cfm?id=235240 Symphony Space Symphony Space
