Description: Put on your best flapper dress. Get your three-piece suit tailored. We’re going back to the 1920s! Today, January 10th, the public will have a chance to experience the decade of decadence when the HBO Shop in New York transforms into a Prohibition-era speakeasy. In conjunction with the Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download release of Boardwalk Empire: The Complete First Season, HBO Home Entertainment invites consumers to travel back in time for an unforgettable Boardwalk experience. To enter the store, you must pass through the speakeasy style door adorned with a sliding eye-window and guarded by a 1920s style bouncer. The interior is furnished with vintage-style wallpaper, framed pictures, a bar, tables, stools, alcohol bottles (sorry, alcohol not included!), newspapers and other themed props. Street reps dressed in period wardrobe will invite consumers to stop in to shop and take pictures of this distinctive event which will run through Monday, January 16th.
To add further excitement to the release, we are dispatching Prohibition-era vehicles in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. However, instead of selling illegal hooch from the trunks, our 1920s ambassadors will be selling Boardwalk DVD/Blu-rays! A first for home entertainment, these mobile retailers will be guarded and operated by a crew that just might resemble Jimmy Darmody and Richard Harrow themselves. Boardwalk Empire is one of the hottest shows on television so I’m sure your readers/viewers would love to know about these fun events. Below please find more information on locations and fans can check out the Boardwalk Empire Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/boardwalkempire) and HBO Twitter (https://twitter.com/hbo @HBO) for updated information through the day on Tuesday.
