The Mariinsky Orchestra performs three concerts in celebration of Music Director Valery Gergiev's 60th birthday. Each concert focuses on a different Russian composer with repertoire that is closely associated with Maestro Gergiev: Stravinsky (ballets The Firebird, Petrouchka, and Le sacre du printemps) on October 10; Shostakovich (Piano Concerto No. 1 with Denis Matsuev and Symphony No. 8) on October 11; and Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto No. 3 with Mr. Matsuev and Symphonic Dances) on October 15.

Venue Description: One of the most famous performance spaces in the world, and where the biggest orchestras in the world play when they come to New York City. They also offer neighborhood concerts throughout the year, tours of the historic halls, music programming, festivals, and more.
