Pianist Jonathan Biss and his mother, violinist Miriam Fried, join for a program comprised of violin and piano sonatas of Janáček, Schumann and Beethoven. Mr. Biss is widely regarded for his interpretations, winning international recognition for his orchestral, recital, and chamber music performances and for his award-winning recordings. In 2000, the pianist made his New York recital debut with 92Y at the age of twenty. Miriam Fried has been recognized for many years as one of the world's preeminent violinists. A consummate musician, Ms. Fried has sustained an international career of the highest caliber performing with virtually every major orchestra and renowned conductor in the United States and Europe for over four decades.
Venue Description: Located on the Upper West Side, the 92nd Street Y is NYC's hub for lectures, talks, readings, literary events, classes, Jewish programs, food and wine tastings, and more. They also offer live music, dance performances, and more including the Art of the Guitar, the $5 Fridays at Noon dance series, and social events.
