Annapurna: Dreams and Nightmares Film Screening
ANNAPURNA, Dreams and Nightmares, challenges the conventional 'man-conquers-mountain' narrative, exploring high-altitude climbing through the lens of failure, suffering, fear, and uncompromising resolve. Featuring some of the words top climbers, this epic tale traverses the full spectrum of human emotion, under the looming shadow of tragedy, on the slopes of one of the most difficult and dangerous mountains on earth. Filmed over 13 years, spanning 6 relentless expeditions on 5 different climbing routes, alternating between sweeping cinematic panoramas, never-before-seen detailed aerials, and immersive first-hand POV footage, the story follows Don Bowie and his companions as they endure suffering, fear, and loss, while climbing the world's tenth highest peak - without supplemental oxygen. Gripping, honest, tragic, and triumphant, the film challenges audiences to find resilience and joy in failure and discomfort - 'wrestling not just with the mountain, but with ourselves.'
Featuring: DON BOWIE, UELI STECK, INAKI OCHOA, DAWA SHERPA, DENIS URUBKO, PETER HAMOR, JESS ROSKELLEY, HORIA COLIBASANU, LOTTA HINTSA, & more...
