Historic 1877 Tall Ship Elissa Departs Texas for New York City as National Sail 250 Tour Begins at Brooklyn Bridge Marina
The 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA has officially departed Texas for New York City - the first stop on its national Sail250 voyage, marking a meaningful return to a port she has visited before - once in 1887 and again in 1986. The ELISSA will join the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships from around the world for a universal celebration of America's 250th anniversary on July 4th. As the oldest ship at the event, The ELISSA will lead the Class A ships in the parade of tall ships.

This historic arrival offers a rare opportunity to experience a living piece of maritime heritage up close, with deck tours inviting visitors on board to explore the ship’s craftsmanship, stories, and enduring legacy. Events and tours will take place July 3 - 7 at Brooklyn Bridge Marina.
