Composing with the Earth on Governors Island
Join musician Elise Silvestri and storyteller Elise Pricer for an afternoon of reconnecting with the sounds of nature. Attune yourself to the earth in recording the ambient bird chips, wind whooshes, and afternoon laughter of Governors Island, and craft a composition reflecting the inherent musicality of nature. Explore through sonic art what it means to live in reciprocity with the earth from moment to moment, embodying your own humanity in the process.
No musical experience is needed - we’ll walk you through everything you need to know!
This event is brought to you by the Restorying Futures Fellowship, a program exploring how storytelling can promote regenerative futures. As part of the fellowship, participants create an experience that brings their local community closer to our shared ecology.
Suggested donation is $5 to support our community space at the Climate Imaginarium, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
