Vocal Colors
Talented young singers from the Mater Dei High School Choir from California, conducted by Jodi Reed, and the local Westchester Children's Choir (WCChorus), conducted by Amanda Gundling and Jennifer Giustino, are showcasing their vocal prowess at the renowned David Geffen Hall this April.
Westchester Children's Choir showcases a diverse range of songs, including Climbin' Up the Mountain arranged by Rollo Dilworth, Flight by Craig Carnelia arranged by Ryan Murphy, Criome Mi Madre by Francisco J. Núñez, Hope Lingers On by Lissa Schneckenburger arranged by Andrea Ramsey, and Nine Hundred Miles arranged by Rollo Dilworth. Each piece brings a unique flavor and emotion to the stage, captivating the audience with the power of children's voices.
Jodi Reed, Director, and Jonathan Knauer, Guest Conductor will lead the Mater Dei High School Choir of eighty high school singers. One of the highlights of their performance includes Modimo, a traditional South African piece arranged by the Soweto Gospel Choir and featuring the talented soloist Alian White. Lucy Laubach takes the spotlight as the soloist in a captivating rendition of El Vito, a traditional Spanish composition beautifully arranged by Joni Jensen. The choir will also showcase mesmerizing works by Christopher Tin, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Elaine Hagenberg, Micheal John Trotta, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Stacey V. Gibbs, and Shawn Kirchner.
