Twilight Tour: Death in New York
Lower Manhattan has a long history of burial grounds, executions, epidemics, public unrest, and forgotten dead. This 1.75-hour evening walking tour follows those stories through some of the city’s oldest streets, from Battery Park toward City Hall Park.
Along the route, you’ll hear about colonial execution sites, burial bans, disease outbreaks, controversial museum collections, Irish revolutionary memorials, early jails, excavated graves, and Lincoln’s funeral procession through New York.
Timed for early evening, this focused walk explores the city’s darker documented history as the day begins to fade.
Not a ghost tour. Real history at dusk.
